The video was directed by Martin Scorsese and star Michael Jackson. Jackson presents a boy named Daryl who has just completed a successful term of a private school. It returns to the city by subway, arriving in a slum. Daryl meets to find his house empty (his mother is played by RobertaFlack, even if off), but is greeted by his old friends, led by Mini Max (an emerging Wesley Snipes) and spends an evening with them. At first relations are friendly, if a bit 'bulky, but the situation worsened when the rest of the band, how much Daryl has changed, especially as he is uncomfortable with their tendency to be petty crime.
